mission 3: iNTERSTELLAR OBJECTS

The Universe that we all know (both Magrithians and Terrestrians) is formed by a series of elements. As we know them with different names we are going to learn how do Earth inhabitants name them to see if they call them the same as we do.

We are also going to learn about their Solar System and their dimensions.

In the previous mission we learnt about some space objects. We are going to find more information about them to send it to the Base. We first work individually and then we share the information with the group.

We need to find the name that Terrestrians give to this space objects that we define in our planet Magrith. We can use Wikipedia. We also need to give an example of each of them

The Bits system on Earth is called Solar System. We are going to make a simulation of the distances within the Solar System.

Imagine that the sun instead of being 1 392 000km of diameter, WAS 10 cm…..

Then, mercury, that is 57 910 000 km from  the Sun, would be only 4,16 meters away...

WE ARE GOING TO SCALE THE SOLAR SYSTEM SO WE CAN COMPARE ITS DIMENSIONS WITH WELL KNOWN PLACES. wE ARE GOING TO OVERLAP THE IMAGE OF A MAP OF A PLACE WITH THE SCALED IMAGE OF THE SOLAR SYSTEM.

  • GO TO GOOGLE EARTH AND FIND OUT THE LATITUDE AND LONGITUDE OF YOUR SCHOOL.

  • gO TO THIS WEBSITE TO CHANGE COORDENATES FROM SEXAGESIMAL SYSTEM TO DECIMAL SYSTEM.
